The short version
Roulo has no accounts and stores no personal data. Your video, audio, and chat messages travel directly between you and your chat partner (peer-to-peer WebRTC) and never pass through our servers. We cannot see, record, or store your conversations.
What we process, and for how long
- A temporary matchmaking entry — while you are searching for a stranger, a random session ID plus your selected gender, interests, and detected country sit in a matching queue. The entry is deleted the moment you are matched, when you leave, or automatically within 30 seconds. It is never linked to your identity.
- Your country — derived from your IP address by our hosting provider to support the "my country only" filter. We do not store IP addresses.
- An ad-consent flag — stored in your own browser (localStorage) to remember your cookie choice. Nothing else is stored on your device by us.
Advertising
Roulo is funded by ads served by Adsterra, a third-party ad network. Ad scripts may set cookies and process your IP address and browser information under their own privacy policy. Visitors in the EEA and UK are asked for consent before any ad scripts load; declining disables ads entirely for that visitor.
Your chat partner
Remember that the stranger you talk to can see and hear you, and could record their own screen — as on any video call. Never share personal information with strangers.
