The Omegle Alternative — Free Video Chat with Strangers
Omegle shut down in November 2023, but the reason people loved it did not go away: the thrill of meeting a complete stranger on video. Roulo brings that back, with a stronger focus on privacy and zero friction to start.
Everything people missed about Omegle, without the baggage
Roulo keeps the part that made Omegle fun, one-on-one video chat with a random stranger and a Next button, and drops the parts that did not age well. There is no signup wall, no app to install, and no server quietly holding on to your conversations.
Add an interest and Roulo tries to pair you with someone who shares it, so your chats are more likely to click.
Why Roulo is more private than most alternatives
Most Omegle-style sites route your video through their own servers. Roulo does not. Your camera, microphone, and messages travel directly between you and the other person over an encrypted peer-to-peer link. We never see them, so we cannot store or share them. There are no accounts and no history. When you leave, you are gone for good.
No download, no account, no wait
Some alternatives push you to install an app or start a paid trial before you can talk to anyone. Roulo is a website. Open it, allow your camera, and you are matched in seconds, on any device, for free.
How it works
- Open Roulo in any browser and confirm you are 18 or older.
- Pick your gender and add optional interests.
- Allow camera and microphone access.
- Meet a random stranger on video and press Next to keep it moving.

Frequently asked questions
What happened to Omegle?
Omegle closed permanently in November 2023 after roughly 14 years. Since then people have looked for alternatives that offer the same random one-on-one video chat.
What is the best Omegle alternative?
The best one depends on what you want. If you value privacy and zero friction, Roulo stands out: it is free, needs no signup or app, and keeps your video peer-to-peer so it is never stored on a server.
Is Roulo like Omegle?
Yes, in spirit. You are matched with a random stranger for a live video chat and can skip to the next person anytime. The difference is that Roulo has no accounts and keeps your conversation private and peer-to-peer.
Is Roulo safe to use?
Roulo is for adults aged 18 and over. Because chats are anonymous and peer-to-peer, we do not record video or audio. Stay safe the same way you would anywhere online: never share your full name, address, phone number, or any financial details, and press Next or close the tab to leave any chat instantly. You are always one click away from ending a conversation.
Ready to talk to someone new?
No signup, no app, nothing stored. Allow your camera and you are connected in seconds.
